More about me - Sarah Rose

My health and fitness journey began early in life. Sports were everything to me growing up. I started with karate as a child and eventually earned my black belt before retiring from it. Over the years, I played hockey, football, baseball, volleyball, rugby, badminton, and snowboarded competitively. Later in life, I fell in love with golf—and alongside weight training, it’s a sport I see myself doing for the rest of my life.

Sports naturally led me into the world of health and fitness. I began weight training in high school, with little knowledge but a lot of curiosity. Thanks to a gym teacher who introduced us to the equipment, I quickly discovered a passion for fitness and personal growth.

What began as a habit soon turned into a lifestyle. I noticed myself growing stronger, both physically and mentally, and my athletic performance improved significantly. Weight training not only built my body—it built my confidence. Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of training styles: martial arts, functional training, CrossFit, powerlifting, strength training, Pilates, spin, yoga, HIIT, circuit training, bodyweight exercises, and now, my current favorite—bodybuilding. Each modality has its place, and I draw from all of them to design personalized plans that meet my clients’ unique needs. This is also where mindset comes in—because training isn’t just physical, it’s deeply mental and emotional.

During university, I studied psychology—while admittedly prioritizing fun and friendships over fitness and nutrition. At the time, I lacked a solid understanding of nutrition and found myself making less-than-optimal choices, especially around alcohol. If I knew then what I know now about the effects of alcohol on the body, I would have done things differently. But that’s the beauty of growth—you live and you learn.

At 19, my life changed forever when my brother passed away in a car accident. Our family was deeply impacted. I moved back home, transferred universities, and my twin sister moved out to BC. It was during this time that I felt a deep, undeniable pull toward helping others. I found strength in talking through difficult times with people, and that gave me both purpose and passion. I knew I was meant to coach and guide others—it just took time to find the right path.

After university, I pursued graphic design. This not only gave me creative skills but eventually allowed me to build my own brand and content for my business. I freelanced and worked in the service industry for years—until COVID hit. Like many, I had to pivot. I enrolled in an electrical engineering program with a co-op, which eventually counted toward my apprenticeship. It was there I found my first mentor and started doing deep inner mindset work that truly changed me.

I worked at a steel mill after trade school, and later joined a utility company. Although the work was stable and the environment positive, something felt off—I wasn’t fulfilled. I had started coaching on the side, and found myself constantly thinking about my clients and how I could support them better. Eventually, I had to be honest with myself: despite being in a good job, it wasn’t my dream. So, in 2024, I took the leap. I resigned—and fully committed to coaching.

At my core, I’m a mindset coach. My childhood may seem full of wins and highlights, but behind the scenes, life was tough. My parents went through a drawn-out, painful divorce that lasted from when I was 3 until I was 16. We dealt with custody battles, child lawyers, and constant uncertainty. And just as things seemed to stabilize, we lost my brother.

I share this not for sympathy, but to show you that your past doesn’t define your future. Pain and struggle shape us—and if we let them, they can also empower us. I believe we’re capable of anything with the right mindset and just one person who believes in us.

In my coaching, mindset is the foundation. From there, we work on nutrition, because without it, no amount of training will give us the results we want. We also focus on sleep, daily movement, water intake, and building sustainable routines. Whether you’re starting from scratch or already have some of these pieces in place, I’ll meet you where you’re at—and build from there.

My intention is to help you better understand yourself: your mind, your body, your nutrition, and your training. I want to give you the tools to live a healthy, fulfilling life—and one day, feel confident enough in your journey that you no longer need me.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to connect. Let’s talk and see if my coaching is the right fit for you <3
